It effectively delivers the right amount of glue to the right area of the plastic model part in a controlled fashion. My eleven-year-old son instantly mastered the process of using this glue dispenser to build several model boats, tanks, and planes.
There is no inherent educational value to this product unless you consider that someone came up with a better alternative to glue in a tube.
The glue dispenser is very durable and continues to dispense glue one-year after purchase (12 models). In other words, the glue remains a viable product for use with a minimum of product manipulation (i.e., just put the supplied cap back on the dispenser).
Overall, this is a great product. I wish I had had this product when I was a kid building plastic models.

(More customer reviews)I was so pleased to open the package and find that the clay was super, super soft and formidable, unlike any other clay I've used (sculpey, fimo, etc). That alone makes it wonderful to play with. The only thing that's less than stellar about this product is that onces it's dry, it's a little delicate. I accidentally crushed one of my small pieces. Another piece I made, I got it wet and it got all soggy! All in all, though-- I really like it. It's easy to paint (especially the white), and it dries very light-- perfect for jewelry! I made a huge earring out of this clay and it's light as a FEATHER!

Alex Toys Super Soft Modeling Dough Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted to order some new play dough for my 3 year old daughter to use with her Alex Toys play dough tools. I originally searched for Play-Doh brand since that is what I played with when I was a kid. Online I was only able to find a kit of small containers (2 ounces) and not a way to get a variety of colors in the standard can size of 5 ounces. It was also very expensive. I was happy when I found the Alex Toys version of play dough. This box comes with 6 different, brightly colored, 5 ounce portions of play dough. It took a little bit of kneading by me at first but now the dough is soft and pliable. My daughter loves the bright colors and now has enough play dough to actually make things. Before she was using the 1 ounce containers of play dough that came with the set of wooden tools. This dough is just as good as the Play-Doh brand as far as I can tell, but was much more affordable and offered a larger amount of play dough (much more useful and fun).

(More customer reviews)What's not to love? It's the original ViewMaster! Instantly brought back memories from my own childhood. (My mom even saved our slide reels that work great in the new one we bought!). My 2-year-old and 4-year-old both enjoy this toy. Holds their attention for a little while at least! My daughter had an easier time using the pull down handle, but she's more fine motor oriented than my older child. The slide reels themselves are flimsy and bend easily, but this Viewmaster is incredibly tough and takes falls and beatings well.

Crayola Model Magic Deluxe Variety Pack Review

(More customer reviews)This has got to be one of the best child's sculpting clay-like substances available. Our 8-year old played with this stuff at his art camp last summer and it was an instant success. Throughout the week, it was his absolutely most favorite thing to work with. We got him this bucket so that he could keep working with this at home and his creativity really showed through -- not only with the four basic colors but mixing them to make all the colors of the rainbow. He has now now worked through 3-4 buckets of this and his projects are consistently getting better, more interesting, and more complex as he learns to think ahead through the sculpting process.
The stuff is clean, does not smell, cleans up easily, and works well with fingers and tools. It will retain its pliancy for a long time in the bucket --- which means that it does take a while to lose its softness and stiffen up into a final product. On the whole, we highly, highly recommend this.

Stockmar Modeling Beeswax - Set of 15 Review

Since then, we've been buying Stockmar brand wax, and continue to enjoy creating our own toys and games with this material. Holds up well, and is great for travel. We always get this in our Christmas stockings and Easter baskets, too. I gave this product 5 stars because the sky's the limit for what you can make with modeling beeswax. Have fun!

(More customer reviews)I am definitely a beginner at this balloon thing, but even a beginner can tell the difference between the Qualatex balloons and the cheap ones. You can just feel the difference even before they are blown up. Blow them up, twist, create. It's a lot more fun because they are much better. Get the big balloon blower upper (Balloon Inflator - Double Action Air Pump),too.
It makes it easier and quicker. I made some balloon hats for my grandchildren 3-4 days ago and they are still up.

(More customer reviews)My son and I just bought PlayFoam at Lakeshore Learning Store. He's gone to bed now, and I'm still playing with it- it really feels neat! Imagine when you're making rice crispies treats- the consistency when you press the stuff into the pan- that's what PlayFoam reminds me of- only NOT STICKY!!! We bought a SAMPLE (forty-nine cents) at the checkout, and I could actually let my four-year-old play with it in his car seat! I can't think of any other similar product I'd do that with!
Speaking of other products, I'd like to warn you off of Floam. We tried it- it smelled funny, it was too sticky/goopy, and in our experience the goop was a pretty good medium for growing mold. Yuck! Play Foam seems much cleaner- I'll update this review if we encounter problems down the road with it, but right now we LOVE IT!!!

Stockmar Modeling Beeswax - 12 Assorted Sheets Review

(More customer reviews)These strips of moldable beeswax are so much fun! At first, it is a cold, very firm substance. Break off a piece, and hide it in the palm of your hand, and you will feel it soften. You may need to teach young children how to get the hang of it or warm it up for them until they have the patience. You could always put some into a baggie, and place the baggie in a bowl of hot water to soften it quickly just to get everyone started. I find it soothing to soften each piece as it's needed with my hands. The wax feels so soft and smooth and there is the faint scent of beeswax. It's really a lovely experience. As you build little creations, the wax will harden again, and you can save it as long as you like or take it all apart. If you want to make it easier to warm up again next time, flatten the wax a bit or leave it in smaller pieces. If you leave it in a big ball (which we do) it will take longer to warm the whole ball in your hands. This is a good activity for children to do during story time. It keeps hands busy and allows them to listen.
