(More customer reviews)should have known better. Bought this to cut the matting on a pre-fit picture frame. What the product description doesn't tell you is that unless you are using a metal ruler as a blade guide AND you manage to completely secure the matting before you start cutting, there is no way you are going to be able to perform a perfect, straight cut. The device is just too small and light, it will slip off of a straight line. I ended up with an uneven line, the picture looks good at a distance but when you get closer, you can see the lousy work. Save your money, either get the matting professionally cut, or prepare to practice a lot and ruin a lot of matting trying to get straight lines
