Browsing around on the tubes, I came across this Super Saw and immediately purchased one here on Amazon. My concerns about the durability and strength of the blade were alleviated once the saw arrived. Careful not slice myself, I opened the package, laid some track out and got to cutting.
I was able to cut right through the rails in seconds right on my train layout board. The cut was even, but I used a metal sanding tool to make sure it was perfectly smooth.
This is a very specialized tool that should only be used for model railroad track. Cutting through N-Scale track was incredibly easy, but HO might be a little harder. If you have track already on your layout that needs cutting, this Super Saw is the way to go.
How much fun is this toy? Loads and loads, but I wouldn't give it to your kid.
How would you rate this toy's educational value? I learned that it cuts track and sharp metal hurts, but that's all.
